MAC Supports Federal “New Start” Funding for Morganza to the Gulf

August 21, 2018 The Board of Directors of the Morganza Action Coalition passed a resolution today urging the federal government to designate the Morganza to the Gulf Hurricane Protection System as a “New Start” project, and to allocate appropriate federal funds to the project. Read Resolution Here

Eighteen years is long enough to wait for Morganza levee

August 22, 2018 Editorial by The Times-Picayune Editorial Board Congress first OK’d the Morganza to the Gulf hurricane protection system in 2000. But the Army Corps of Engineers failed to complete a report on construction that was part of the agreement.

Louisiana coastal officials demand Congress approve money for Morganza to the Gulf levee
